about

The debut album from The Mountain Shadow. A project started initially by Ian Norsworthy (First Sign of Light, The Sky is Mine) as a solo project, releasing 2 songs in the wake of the end of First Sign of Light. Eventually Ian brought in long term friend (and teenage collaborator) James Doyle (Z Stacks, Gabion, James Doyle) to help write and arrange songs. In 2016 they released Lost Forwards with the drumming of First Sign of Light's Tom Bush before adding even childhood term friend John Briddon (Z Stacks) to complete the trio and start writing from a clean slate. The artists brought an eclectic set of influences to the table and after a few years working out how to pull those disparate ideas together the band eventually recorded a number of demos, those demos developed into fully fledged studio recordings and eventually were whittled down to 10 songs and mixed. Shortly after that the global health crisis hit and after an eventual return to normality (and recovery of mixes from backups after a catastrophic computer failure) the album was finally re-mixed and mastered, giving us the 10 songs we have now.
